The Seto Family Scholarship

UCEAP Seto Family Scholarship Winter/Spring 2027 – $2,000 (Immersion experience UCEAP program in Spain)
For students who are participating in an immersion experience UCEAP program in Spain during the winter/spring quarters or spring semester.

The Seto Family Scholarship supports students planning to study abroad on a UCEAP immersion experience program in Spain. One scholarship of $2,000 will be offered yearly to a student participating in a winter/spring quarter or spring semester UCEAP program in Spain.

Award: $2,000

You can pair the UCEAP Seto Family Scholarship with a Yearlong Scholarship, a Social Media Scholarship, and any outside or campus awards. The only restriction is that it cannot be combined with other UCEAP systemwide scholarships.

Eligibility
To be considered for a scholarship, you must:
-Meet the core eligibility requirements.
-Plan to study in an immersion experience UCEAP program in Spain and ultimately be selected.

How to Apply
To apply:
-Create an account on the UCEAP Scholarship Application Website.
-Complete the UCEAP Scholarship Form.
-Submit a Global Scholarship Application (Candidates will be selected internally from top-ranking Global Scholarship applications).
-Tailor your statement of purpose responses to reflect why you are interested in an immersive experience.

About the Donor
Emily Seto, an alumna of UC Santa Barbara, participated in a yearlong UCEAP program at the Complutense University of Madrid from 1999-2000. Her parents, Fred and Esme Seto, supported the aspirations of their children in education and in life enriching experiences. Without them, neither Emily nor her brother, Thomas (UCLA, Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1995-96), would have been able to study abroad. Emily and Thomas both live abroad. According to Emily, had they not studied abroad, they would most likely be in a very different place. UCEAP was life-changing for the Seto family.
